WHY AEROTEC IS THE LEADER IN DESIGN AND DURABILITY |

|
AeroTec Race Bodies are a one-piece fiberglass design. The advantages to the one-piece design are: 1)No longer does the racer have to bolt, cable-tie, or rivet the three body panels together. This saves a great deal of time when mounting your body, and assures that the side panels are aligned exactly as the manufacturer intended - instead of having to pull together or push apart the side panels as the body is mounted on the kart, which creates a bind. 2)As your body wears, you don't have to worry about your chassis flexing at a different rate due to the increasing "slop" of the wearing bolt or rivet holes. With our body, you simply mount the nose, and slightly over-size the side mounting holes according to our mounting instructions, which lets the chassis flex inside your body, creating no bind. 3)With a one-piece design, you no longer need to run the front upright braces on any of the modern offset chassis, which create a great amount of bind in the front of your chassis. Many times, racers have to use these to keep other bodies up off of their tires and the body off of the ground, but our bodies eliminate the need for this, letting your chassis work as the manufacturer intended. The one problem with one-piece bodies is that they are harder to ship, as they are too bulky to ship UPS. We currently ship them truck freight, which is around $115.00. Many customers choose to order together with other racers in their area, and combine a shipment with up to five bodies and splitting the shipping costs. NOTE: Champ kart bodywork DOES ship UPS, and usually runs in the $30.00 range. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- AeroTec Race Bodies are manufactured using a hand-laid process. We could have gone with a chopper-gun process, but we felt that by hand-laying our bodies, we would create a higher quality product. These advantages are: 1)Consistent thickness of the fiberglass and resin mix that is not possible with a chopper gun. We are able to add extra material in critical areas that are always subject to fail, but able to keep the body light in places which do not need reinforcement. These areas include: the front corner of the front wheel openings, the tops of the rear wheel openings, the bottom of the side-panels, the top area of the leading edge of the nose, and especially the center area and bottom of the nose. 2)We have been able to, through design and testing, come up with a process of combining the fiberglass sections in such a way that actually creates rib-like areas of reinforcement. These areas are virtually impossible to see in the fiberglass as a finished product, but they are there, and will help your body last far longer than many of the current bodies on the market today. This process is much more time consuming and difficult than the standard process, but when we set out to build a better body, we felt that it was worth it to create a higher quality product. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- AeroTec Race Bodies are more aerodynamic than virtually all of the bodies being manufactured today. Our body was designed from the ground up using true aerodynamic principles to eliminate drag, lower frontal area, and make the body as "invisible" to the air as possible. Some of these areas include: 1) A more rounded top edge of the side panels. There is no need for the air to have to flow over any more surface area than necessary. 2) More contoured front corners of the nose, gently directing the air around the sides of the body, rather than having a squared-off corner like many current bodies do. 3) A more gentle contour to the cowl area. The overall drag on the nose is less than the slab-sided styles that are so popular today. As the kart yaws (rotates) through the corners, our design creates much less drag. It may appear wider, especially at the bottom, but overall, it produces a lower frontal area coefficient of friction that most current styles do. 4) A gentle air-directing lip at the top of the cowl area. Our testing has shown that with this lip in place, combined with the shape of our nose and cowl area, we have decreased or eliminated the need for the "bubble" mounted on the steering shaft mount, which is usually mounted at such an angle that increases drag drastically. 5) Built- in skirting around the nose and sides of our body. While this feature does not help or hurt the aerodynamics of the body, it helps to keep tire rub marks off of the main area of the sides. The skirting molded into the sides is a feature not seen on any bodies that we are aware of at AeroTec. As you can see, our bodies contain many features that at first glance a person may not recognize. We have literally redesigned the kart body from the ground up, giving thought to improving not just an area or two of the modern kart body, but the whole design. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For these reasons, we believe that the AeroTec (which is short for aerodynamic technology) product is not simply a new fiberglass covering for your racing chassis, but is in many ways, a RACE BODY. We have applied for, and are awaiting confirmation of, a patent on our truly unique design, and we hope that you are as pleased with our product as we are-- but also, we would like you to know that we are committed to pushing the envelope of karting technology, and will continue to produce new innovations. |
